AMMAN, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Budget airline flights to Jordan are set to resume starting July 1 following months of aviation disruption amid regional tensions, a move expected to boost tourist arrivals, particularly from European markets, the country's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said Saturday.
Jordan's key tourism sector has begun to stabilize following a period of unrest in February and March, the ministry said in an official statement, noting that it has intensified its presence at border crossings and major entry ports in cooperation with relevant authorities.
The measures aim to market Jordan's travel destinations, raise awareness of the "Ahlan Jordan" (Welcome to Jordan) digital platform, and provide essential assistance and information to international visitors to enhance their travel experience, it said.
According to the statement, the positive trend is supported by a package of government measures and promotional campaigns implemented in coordination with hospitality sector partners to mitigate the impact of regional instability on tourism and travel to the country. ■
