ASTANA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The combined gross domestic product (GDP) of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries reached 3.02 trillion U.S. dollars in 2025, up 16.6 percent from 2020, Kazinform news agency reported Friday.
The union's combined GDP growth is projected at around 2.5 percent in 2026 and 2027, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held Friday in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital.
This year mutual trade among EAEU member states is expected to exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars, Tokayev told the meeting.
In 2025, trade turnover among EAEU countries reached 95 billion dollars, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
Industrial output across the EAEU increased by 18.9 percent in 2021-2025, reaching 1.69 trillion dollars, while agricultural production rose by 12.4 percent to 167.5 billion dollars, according to data presented at a plenary session of the fifth Eurasian Economic Forum, held Thursday through Friday in Astana.
The EAEU's e-commerce volume reached approximately 110 billion dollars in 2024, while the share of settlements conducted in national currencies in mutual trade increased to around 93 percent, Kazinform reported.
The EAEU, grouping Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan, was founded in 2014 with the aim to harmonize regulations, eliminate non-tariff trade barriers, and boost the global competitiveness of its member economies. ■
