SINGAPORE, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed up on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went down 1.13 percent, or 38.66 points, to close at 3,377.24.

A total of 2.54 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.96 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.47 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 448 to 85.

The STI index closed up 0.95 percent, or 32.13 points, to close at 3,415.9 on Thursday. Enditem
